Finally!!! Our wedding day was here! and after a 6 month engagement we couldn't be more excited! The night before the big day, Benny was over at my house and I remember just sitting there with him and we just couldn't believe that in 12 hours we would be getting married and starting the rest of our lives together!
The morning of the wedding my friend Lexi came over at 6 AM to do my hair, and it turned out great! It was so strange when my mom and dad came down stairs to see how my hair was coming because it was hard to think that that day I was moving out of their house for good! Even though I lived away from home for 4 years for college, it was still strange. We finished my hair with just enough time to grab my dress and temple clothes and run out the door!
I couldn't wait to see Benny that morning at the temple. His brother Evan was one of our witnesses in the Temple so he rode with Benny any my parents and I just met them downtown. And of course I was sitting in there waiting for my groom for a good 15 minutes, and yes he was worrying me! NOT a good day to be late! Of course all worked out, we filled out our papers and headed in to get changed for the sealing!
Before the sealing started we waited outside of the room that all of our family members were in, and talked to our sealer, who was so cute! And finally the time came to go in. Kneeling across from my husband and hearing the promises we were making was so amazing! Somehow I was able to keep it together, (which is weird we all know because I am usually very emotional) however, Benny will deny it, but he did start to tear up. After it was over we were able to talk to all of our family members that were in there before we came out of the temple! And that is when I finally lost it! Whenever I see my dad cry, I can't even help myself. And seeing the look in my mom's and dad's eyes knowing that they were so proud of Benny and I and the decisions we made together was one of the best feelings in the world!
Finally my mom and I went back to the dressing room and fixed my hair and make-up to make sure it was perfect to come out of the temple. Of course we were greeted by all of our family and friends!
Then it was time for pictures! After it was all done I feel like I had to unscrew my smile! Yes, I was so happy but smiling for a few hours straight starts to hurt! I just told Dave (our photographer) that I didn't want my smile to start to not look natural. And we would tell me if is started too haha he was great! He was honestly the best photographer ever! So much fun, and does great work. (Dave Jaffa, just for anyone who needs an amazing photographer one day!)
Pictures ended and I was STARVING! So we headed straight to Chipotle. I needed something that was going to fill me up for a few hours so that I wouldn't be hungry during our reception. We only had like an hour till we had to head to our reception center so we got chipotle and headed back to our apartment to eat. Then fell asleep for about 20 min....no joke....everyone thinks of "other things" but really we at and slept then rushed to the after party.
Our reception went so well. We stood in line for an hour and 30 min then cut the cake and danced. We had so many people come and made it such a great reception! Our food was to die for and the cake turned out just the way I wanted it! All in all it was the perfect wedding day followed by the best Honeymoon in Disneyland! I am one lucky woman!!
