It honestly felt like the proposal took so long to finally happen, when in reality it only took 6 months from when we started dating! That is when the saying comes true, "when you know, you know!" and I just wanted it to happen! I knew I was going to marry benny when we first started dating and had no doubt about it! Things started off great between us when I was still living in Ohio, and when I say great I mean as great as it can be when living 2,000 miles away from each other and starting to try and date! We leared EVERYTHING about one another by talking 24/7 on the phone! (Thank goodness my mom had my add him to a family fav on the cell phone plan or our bill would have been out of control) So moving on we dated from october to march and then one march day it finally happened.
PRACTICE
I was at lacrosse practice on March 28th, and was about to leave when a package arrived for me at practice. It said "Go home right now, dont open until you get home, get ready as fast as you can, and I will pick you up at 6:30 Sharp! Love Benny" At this point I was like oh yeah.....this is happening! not even letting it be a surprise. ;) So I speed home go down to my room and on my dresser is a dozen beautiful Coral colored roses and then I start ripping the package open! It had a cute coral shirt (yes he planned the flowers to match) earrings, and a scarf inside for me to wear that night. Then I'm thinking "Oh yeah, I totally know this is happening now!" So I got ready and Benny came and picked me up!
DINNER
We left my house and he wouldn't tell me where we were going. He said it was all going to be a surprise. (even though I knew what was coming of course haha) So our first stop was dinner. He took me to Christophers Steak House and man was it good! All of dinner I was nervous. I couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen next! Was he going to get down on one knee here at dinner? Would it be later? The anticipation was killing me!! So we finished dinner and then got back in the car...
BOONDOCKS
Next he started heading for the draper area, and Im someone who has to know everything so I couldnt wait to see where we were going next so of course I started guessing, and I guessed right! We were headed to Boondocks! Benny and I loved doing fun outdoor things so he took be to Boondocks to right the Go-carts, play some games, and mini golf. However when we got there it started rain (yeah just my luck) Benny was all for still riding the Go-carts and being outside in the rain, but in my head I was saying "NO WAY!! If im getting engaged tonight I am going to have cute hair and not look like a mess!!" So in a nice way I said lets play some of the games here inside! haha and we did! We rode one of those rides that you sit in and watch a video as it spins and it made us really sick so after we left Boondocks ice cream wasn't sounding like a good idea.
CONFUSION....
Then the confusion starts....Since we both weren't feeling the whole ice cream thing Benny asked me if I wanted to just go get a RedBox and go back to my house and watch it....WHAT?!? I didnt know what to say besides..."ummm sure" haha. I was so confused! what was he going to do, propose to me at the RedBox in McDonalds? I was shocked that he hadn't asked me yet...so yes we went and got a movie and headed home. We got home and my mom was in the kitchen so she asked how are date was and yada yada...Then my mom told me that she was trying to post something on FB and it wouldnt really work so she needed my help, so there I went up the stairs all depressed, and confused, and wondering why he would have gotten me flowers and an outfit and went to a fancy dinner if he wasn't gonna pop the question. I was upstairs for about 10 min when my mom says Benny needs me out back....
THE QUESTION...
Now I kinda started to freak out knowing that this might be it! So I walk out the back door and look off the porch and there is my Knight in Shining Armor holding a dozen white beautiful roses and is standing next to bunch a yellow and green balloons with cute lights going up through them lighting them up! I about died!!! I walked down to him and he started telling how much I mean to him and then it honestly became a blur, especially when he pulled out the ring, it all went by sooo fast! And then he asked if I would marry him! And I think we all know my answer! I couldn't believe that it finally happened! I was engaged to the love of my life and I get to spend ETERNITY with him! We walked inside and there my mom was with the camera snapping pictures of our beautiful moment! It was amazing! Thank goodness the night didnt end with just watching a dumb RedBox! ;)
Right after we got engaged!! So happy we could get pictures of it all happening!
The flowers were so pretty!
(By the way the reason the balloons were yellow and green is because when we talked about getting married while we were dating we knew that we wanted our wedding colors to be yellow and green. Yes he planned it out perfectly!)
